McCORMICK CYNTHIA KAY Of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully with her adoring husband by her side on January 13, 2012. Cindy was just 44 years of age. She was the loving wife of Scott J. McCormick; proud mother of Taura Elayne, Noelle Fay and Anna Elise McCormick; beloved daughter of Raymond and Charlotte "Ceci" Sprites; loving sister to James (Julie) Sprites, Karen (Charles) Absten and Todd (Lisa) Sprites; loving daughter-in-law of Bill and Kathy McCormick; loving sister-in-law of William (Kathy) McCormick and Kelly McCormick; she is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews and a community of devoted friends. Cindy worked at Unique Factor Hair Salon and the Associates in Ophthalmology in Pleasant Hills. She loved the Todd Jones Band, live music, dancing and camping with her kids. She just loved being surrounded by her family and friends. The family wants to thank the community for the outpouring of support over the past few years. She will forever be remembered for having an illuminating smile that lit the world and touched everyone she met. Visitation will be on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas a' Becket Church. Entombment Jefferson Memorial Park.






This OBITUARY provided by Ed Withers (CHS'57) ON 9/29/2011: DEAN, RAYMOND M. Age 70. May 17, 2011. Originally from Clairton, PA, Ray fought a courageous battle against lung cancer and emphysema. Beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Louise and loving father of Christopher (Michaele) and Jennifer (Daniel) Wagner. Proud grandfather of Christian, Megan and Gianna. Brother-in-law to Donald and Suzanne Simonelli. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Devoted friend of George Mach, Edward Martin and Michael McGrath. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna Dropulich and seven siblings. Also predeceased by in-laws Arduino and Antonetta Simonelli and loving brother-in-law Frank Simonelli. Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany. After an honorable discharge he worked for Parke-Davis and later Michigan Health Care. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and the company of his family and friends. Funeral Saturday May 21st at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lakeshore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms. In state 9:30 am until time of Mass 10:00 am. Ray Sprites had a hole-in-one on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Seven Springs Golf Course in Elizabeth. It was on Hole #17, a par 3, 145 yards, and Ray used a 7 iron. Congratulations, Ray!




OBITUARY from Pittsburgh Tribune Review): Andrew S. Sovich Jr., Belle Vernon, Formerly of Clairton. Andrew S. Sovich Jr., 66, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Clairton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, in the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon. Born Dec. 5, 1940, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Andrew Sovich Sr. and Clara Pater Sovich. He retired as an industrial bricklayer from U.S. Steel's Clairton Works. He was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Clairton, where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He is survived by daughters, Christine Sovich, of White Oak, and Robbi (Ken) Hast, of Lincoln Borough; grandchilden, Ashley Waldbaum and Rikki Stetar; a brother, Richard Sovich of Glassport; one niece; and one nephew. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth Ave., Clairton, where a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. There will be a Panachida service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at noon in Ascension Church with the Rev. OBITUARY from Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Larkin, Richard "Gene" -Age 67, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Wilson (Clairton) died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born August 3, 1940 in McKeesport, son of the late James and Margaret (Lewis) Larkin. Gene was the owner of Sturman Larkin Ford in West Mifflin. He had previously worked for Al Schwartz Pontiac serving as General Manager and started in car sales at 18 years old with Palmer Pontiac in McKeesport. He was an avid bowler, member of the Ford Advertising Group and member F&AM Stephen Bayard Lodge in Elizabeth. Husband of Nancy (Hout) Larkin, father of Kenneth (Stacie) Bickerton of Belle Vernon, Scott (Stacey) Larkin of Florida, Jay (Maria) Bickerton of Elizabeth Twp. and Michael (Judy) Larkin of Greensburg; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild is expected any day; brother of James (Margaret) Larkin of Elizabeth Twp., Deborah (Donald) Victor of Elizabeth Twp., and David Larkin of Clairton; Step son of Michael (Myrna) Kemple of Elizabeth Twp. Friends received in the STEPHEN D. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills from 6-9 p.m. Saturday & 2-8 p.m. Sunday where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am.
